Background
BLR Partners was founded in 2009 by experienced industrial managers as a strategic advisory and investment company for small and medium-sized companies in the industrial and services sectors. As a subsidiary of BLR Partners, BLR Capital has been the “operational” unit since 2018, implementing a wide range of proprietary and third-party projects.
BLR Partners and BLR Capital now have around 20 partners and employees. The BLR Group manages its own investments and such of third parties, represents the owners on boards of directors and conducts advisory mandates with a strategic, operational or financial focus. BLR has broad experience in the field of investment advisory of SME portfolios (participations and loans).

BLR Capital seeks exciting investment opportunities in medium-sized companies and invests its own funds as well as capital from selected co-investors. BLR Capital supports investors in optimising the value of existing portfolios.
BLR Capital has proven know-how and expertise in the entrepreneurial environment within the group of companies. With the broad experience of its partners, BLR Capital actively contributes to the work of the board of directors and significantly supports the operational development of the companies.
BLR Capital sees industrial value creation as the centre of its activities. Long-term and sustainable considerations are a matter of course for BLR Capital, with the focus on the future of the company and its stakeholders.

Portfolio
BLR has managed over 30 companies in its own investment portfolio and as an active portfolio manager over the past 5 years.
Own Participation
BLR Capital invests in medium-sized companies in German-speaking countries with its own funds and on behalf of selective investors. BLR Capital sees itself as an active partner with the goal of achieving sustainable value enhancement for the companies and their investors.
Portfolio KMU Capital AG (2018 - 2021)
On behalf of KMU Capital AG, BLR Capital managed a portfolio of 19 medium-sized investments in the DACH region from 2018 to 2021. BLR Capital has been actively involved in the board of directors and, when required, also operationally and has significantly influenced the development of the companies. The mandate was successfully completed in spring 2021.
Portfolio AM-Tec Kredit AG
On behalf of AM-Tec Kredit AG, an investment vehicle financed by the Foundation for the Promotion of SMEs within the framework of industry clusters and Swissmem, BLR Capital has been managing the value-optimised wind-up of a portfolio consisting of loans and participations since 2017. Since the beginning of the mandate, the goal has been to find sustainable and profitable exit solutions for all the investments.
Special Situations and Minority Holdings
BLR and its partners are involved as minority shareholders in various other participations and support these companies as active board members and investors.
BLR's team also supports various companies with strategic issues beyond their own holdings.
